I would like to give a shout out to parent volunteers in the school.  I have 15 parents that give of their time one hour a week to help the students.  In my reading program I have a parent that comes an hour a day to help with my guided reading groups.  They do a shared reading with four different groups for 15 minutes, then  we rotate.  The most import thing that is happening is there is another adult in the room that are making sure the students are on task and involved with the reading process.  They are asking questions, and having discussion with the students.  At the end of the 15 min

At the end of the first three terms, Mr. Teuscher's class gets to use money that was errand to spend at shops.  The students plan and set up the shops and decide how much to charge for the goods they are selling.  It is awesome to see the excitement and the fun the students have for all their hard work.  It's a lesson in supply and demand, and economics.  Fun was had by all.

In Mr. Teuscher's Science class we are studying Matter.  We spend a lot of time experimenting with physical changes and Chemical changes/reactions.  This is Mrs. Harrison's class making ice cream.  It is a demonstration of a liquid changing from a liquid to a solid.  The students had a great time working together tossing the bags of ice cream back and forth to help the ice cream become a solid.  The best part was being able to eat the ice cream.  The students have a better understanding of a physical change.  Science rocks!
