Mrs. Nielson and Mrs. Callister's 2nd Grade Class took part in an Earth Day Service Project inspired by an idea from one of our students.  Kyler Carpenter took the initiative to write to the city council and the Mayor's office to see if they would designate a planter bed in the shape of Utah with flowers the color and pattern of the American Flag.  Our class jumped at the chance to put our study of plants in Science to good use.  We walked to the City Library and planted the donated flowers.  We had a wonderful afternoon with perfect weather and a lot of fun!
