Principal Moment

Allow me to share a quote from one of our Riverview learners who recently returned from remote to at-school learning: “Mrs. Killian, I missed the loud lunchroom.”  This comment brought tears to my eyes and I wanted to hug her.

I want to thank our children.  These little heroes have had their whole worlds literally turned upside down and I think many don’t know why.  All these rules they’ve never known.  Not being able to see family or give hugs.  Vacations, sports and activities, play dates and school events canceled.  Our children’s minds must be racing.  Every day their resilient little bodies get up and carry on despite all that’s going on.  Here’s to our little heroes: today, tomorrow, forever.

Cold Weather

All children will be expected to go outside for recess except in extreme weather conditions.  If the temperature falls below 20, students will remain indoors.

Please send your student to school with appropriate clothing.  Also, we ask that you label your student’s name on the inside of all coats and jackets.

Theme for Food/Clothing Drive; One Can, Two Can, Who Can, You Can! – November 9th – December 11th

Riverview student council is pleased to announce the 12th annual Food and Clothing Drive.  The donated food and clothing will be given to families in our school and the Nebo Pantry.

The Nebo Pantry is for homeless and transient students in our district.  The district has over 1,500 students in this situation.  The Nebo Pantry is in extreme need of boys and girl’s underwear, socks, gloves, hats and coats in all children sizes.

Each can of food donated is worth 1 point.  Clothing is worth 5 points. The class per grade level that collects the most cans and bonus points will receive a root beer float party.

Free Breakfast/Lunches will run through the end of the school year!

Breakfast and lunch continue to be available for free to all students enrolled in Nebo School District, including remote learners.

If your student is a remote, preschool or Kindergarten learner and you want to participate, please click on the following link School Breakfast & Lunch Order for Riverview Elementary or call Riverview at 801-798-4050 each morning before 9 a.m. to place your order. Meals will be available for pick up in the front office from 10:40 – 11:00 AM.

This is a temporary Christmas assistance program that assists families that are not getting help from anyone else. Sub for Santa goes beyond Christmas.

Support Staff Day – November 18th

Inside Riverview Elementary there’s a group of people we just couldn’t do without.

We’re celebrating some special employees this week.  Every day, support staff keep Riverview organized and bring expertise and enthusiasm to the office, classrooms, kitchen and library.  It’s Support Staff Appreciation Week, so let’s thank these caring professionals for helping Riverview students succeed.

I encourage you to have your children write a thank you or share a story about our stellar support staff who put a smile on all our faces.

We love our Riverview Support Staff!
