Principal Moment
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, some Riverview kiddos wrote what they are thankful for. There’s nothing more real than asking a student a serious question to see what their response will be. Kids don’t have to try very hard to be funny-they just are.

“I’m thankful for my family and Thanksgiving and even you, teacher!.”
“I’m thankful for X-Box and everyone who brings food.”
The fifth grade just finished our annual performance of the Wax Museum! We have been writing biographies, memorizing parts, learning songs,and preparing costumes so we look like the person we chose to be from American history. It was a lot of fun, and a big thank you to all of the fifth grade parents for helping us get ready, and for coming to the program. We couldn't have done it without you!
We are so proud of our fifth grade D.A.R.E Graduates! "Thank you" to our dare officer that helped us to understand how important it is to stay drug free!
Principal Moment
Third graders have been working extra hard this year on their multiplication facts. We practice every day with fun games that they always look forward to. Our songs to help us remember each times tables always stay in our heads as we recite them every day before practice. Students are extra motivated to learn their multiplication facts so that they can pass off their timed tests by the end of the year. It's been a great year so far!

There are some things that happen at school that are guaranteed to bring any lesson to a grinding halt and there is nothing that even the most highly effective teacher can do to refocus students.
