Scott Sorensen, a mountain man came to Riverview to discuss the importance of being a mountain man and told some exciting tall tales to the fourth graders. The fourth graders had the chance to hear animal calls and touch real animal furs. They also learned some history of mountain men in Utah. Mr. Sorensen was the author of a book called, "Kipawa River Chronicles" that is currently in our library. Thank you Mr. Sorensen for taking the time out of your day to visit our school!

Second Graders were treated to an in-house field trip provided by The Living Planet Aquarium on September 7th. Students learned about the continents, the rain forests, and some the animals and insects that are found there. They were able to touch them, too!
All week long, we are learning about how to be safe in the car and walking or riding our bikes to and from school. The PTA has planned fun activities to help us remember the little things that help keep us safe in a big way. Here is what we've done so far...
We kicked off the week with wearing green and having an assembly with fun games to remind us of safety rules.
We wore mismatched shoes to remind us to "watch our step" and keep safe.
We wore bright colors like they did in the 80s to be seen by cars.
We wore silly socks to remind us to not be silly on our way to school.
Today, Friday, we had Willy the Wolverine from UVU come to help us celebrate "Walk to School" Day. Students also were able to play at lunch recess with our Spanish Fork High School Friends. What a wonderful way to end a wonderful week!
More fun pics to come! Check back soon.
We are gutted at Riverview to have Mrs. Jarvis and Mr. Lowe leaving us. There was an assembly today in which each grade put together a little farewell tribute for each. There were candy posters, fun songs, and excellent advice from the first graders. We wish them both all the best in their new endeavors!! We will MISS you!!!
The third grade spelling bee was a success this year, and included these winners-
Corbin Jensen- second place, Jacqueline Doty- third place, and Morganne Price won first place. Corbin and Morganne are both in Mrs. Hall's class, and Jacqueline is in Mrs. LaCrua's. The winning word was 'racial'. The competition started with ten kids, two kids from each of the third grade classes. They all had a great experience. Congratulations Corbin, Jacqueline, and Morganne!
