Riverview Citizenship Assembly

Riverview students attended a bike show assembly.  At the bike show the students learned it is always important to wear a helmet that fits.  Students also learned to check that the bike chain is on correctly, the breaks are working, the handlebars are tight, and the tires have air.  Two Riverview students participated in checking two bikes to make sure they were safe to ride.  Thank you for the bike safety tips!

 

Ballet West Performs For Riverview

Ballet West performed for Riverview students. They talked to Riverview students about staying healthy by eating nutritional food and getting plenty of rest.  The dancers described dancing as an art form.  They performed their bar work and dances.  Riverview students participated in dancing in the audience and on stage!

White Ribbon Week Community Night

Riverview parents participated in Community Night discussing Internet safety.  Parents and community members discussed how to protect families online, how to install parental controls on electronic devices, video gaming, and resources that are available to help families with internet safety.  Thank you for the great White Ribbon Week!

White Ribbon Week

Riverview students attended an assembly on Internet safety for White Ribbon Week.  Students learned the rules for online safety.  Students discussed that they should not share their name, address, and other personal information with other people online.  Students discussed that they should tell a trusted adult if they see something on the Internet that makes them feel sad, scared, or confused.  Students learned about Netiquette, which is not being rude or mean online.  

 

First Grade Celebrates 100 Days of School

Riverview first graders celebrated 100 Days of School.  The first grade students used counting and place value to count their 100 pieces of candy for their class candy factory.  Students also drew pictures of what they would look like if they were 100 years old.  They read 100 words that they have learned to read and write in first grade.  They have learned a lot this year and are excited to learn a whole lot more!    

 

Uniqual Week

Student Council attended a student council conference where they discussed how everyone is equal but we are all unique.  The student council had an assembly on Monday to start off the “uniqual” week.

Monday- Be yourself

Tuesday- Sports day

Wednesday- Crazy hair

Thursday- Hat day

Friday- High School Spirit Day.
