Students and teachers at Riverview have been experiencing some “drama” in their classrooms recently –the GOOD kind!
Nebo’s K-5 Drama Integration Coaches, Mrs. Bean, and Mr. Sansom, have been visiting Riverview classrooms to provide professional development to teachers on ways to integrate drama with the regular curriculum. Students have paired story elements, voice, characterization, role play, puppetry, script writing, and reader’s theatre with language arts, social studies, science, health, and math. Mrs. Bean has worked with 1 st, 2 nd, and 5 th grades. Mr. “Ben” has worked with K, 3 rd and 4 th. The Nebo School District partners with the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Elementary Arts Learning Program (BTS ARTS for short) to provide unique arts training and experiences to teachers and students during the school year.
