Principal Moment

My Dear Wonderful Riverview Community.  In my messages each week I have tried to be transparent about my love for teaching, learning, teachers and students.  In a few short weeks, I will no longer be a Riverview Ram.  I am retiring.  Before I leave, I want to share a few thoughts.

Parents, I want to thank you for bringing your children to our school and trusting us with them every day.  Most of you did not have a choice, but I hope that if you did, you would have done it the same way.  I especially want to thank you for raising such an amazing group of people.  Being involved in your child’s life leads them to more opportunities for success.  This group of Riverview students have so may positive qualities and I know this all starts at home.

Staff, as a collective effort from ALL of you, everyone, from the librarian, custodian, secretaries, technicians, lunch ladies and teachers – your kindness and caring for students as whole people and not as numbers on exams is the reason that we see students progress.  Thank you for always caring about our Riverview students.

As I type, I think back to my first year at Riverview and I have appreciated every moment.  This has been an absolutely fantastic chapter in my life.  I have learned, through children, to be myself.  There is a saying, “Be yourself, everyone else is taken.”  I have been shown this over and over.

Each morning Riverview students hear: “What we do at school is important. You can do hard things. We are never giving up on you.”  These are words that I hope they will carry with them.

Wherever your future leads you, I will be cheering for you.  Before I leave, I want to make sure I say, “thank you,” for all that you have taught me.  If I can inspire people half as much as I have been inspired, I know I will be successful.

I will always love Riverview!

Riverview Water Bottle Filling Stations

Thank you for helping us raise enough money to allow us retrofit all six water fountains with bottle filling stations.  We are grateful to provide a more sanitary place for students to fill up a water bottle.  The stations are touch-free and when a bottle is taken away, they automatically stop.  Our community is the best!
