Principal Moment

I don’t know why, but kids like to talk about their parents’ ages.  It is as predictable a subject of conversation as what they’re going to be for Halloween or whether or not Santa Claus really exists.  Every year, at some time, I will hear a student ask another, “How old is your mom?” 

The other day, I walked down the third-grade hall.  There was a sub who looked so familiar to me.  “Zaidee?” I said.  It caught the sub off guard.  Zaidee laughed and I gave her a big hug. 

We have made a change to our good citizenship reward.  We have purchased a one-time viewing license for The Tale of Desperaux.  Teachers will view the film in their individual classrooms.  

There will be no school on Friday, January 14th for the professional development of our staff.

While we are at it, remember there is no school on Monday, January 17th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
