Riverview first graders celebrated 100 Days of School. The first grade students used counting and place value to count their 100 pieces of candy for their class candy factory. Students also drew pictures of what they would look like if they were 100 years old. They read 100 words that they have learned to read and write in first grade. They have learned a lot this year and are excited to learn a whole lot more!

Riverview students got ready for the Christmas break by having a school wide Christmas Sing-A-Long. The 4-H students performed their Christmas songs. Then Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Nielson, and Mrs. Roberts led the school in Christmas songs. All of the students did a great job and it really got everyone in the Christmas spirit.
During the month of December, first grade students had a goal to each read 20 books. To celebrate reaching their goal they had a Polar Express party. They had a great experience reading and had fun at the party.
Second graders performed their Christmas program for Riverview students and parents. The songs were fun to learn and were all about having a “Nice, nice, Christmas.” Students had so much fun singing about decorating trees, and asking Santa for what they wished for. The students grooved to the music as they sang about reindeer dancing on their days off from work. The second grade provided fun entertainment for everyone!
The 6th grade orchestra performed for Riverview students. The orchestra began by demonstrating how they warm up for practice. They performed Mary Had a Little Lamb, Are You Sleeping, Ode to Joy and We Three Kings. Riverview students sang along to Jingle Bells, Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, and Up On the Rooftop. Thank you 6th grade orchestra for all of your time and hard work. It was a wonderful concert!
